Like most American architecture graduates from Malaysia, post graduation Jaafar stayed back for three years to work in an American firm; he was with RTKL in Baltimore. There, he worked mostly on commercial and Mixed-Use Development projects. Upon returning home, he joined Hijjas Kasturi Associates and gotten the chance to work on important projects such as Menara Citibank and Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur. In 1995, he moved to Kumpulan Senireka where he met RSPKL’s current principal; Ar. Hud Bakar. Together, they worked on Menara Esso and Menara Johor.

Following Hud’s departure in 1996 to RSPKL, in 1998 he followed suit. With RSPKL, he diversified into housing, private residences and corporate offices.

Currently, he helms the ERP Team and in charge of RSPKL’s facilities. He has also found his niche in ‘Project Management’ as well as ‘Design Detailing’. An adventurous chap by nature, aside to architecture, he is into the outdoors i.e., travelling, cycling, motocross, superbikes and 4×4.
